WHAT IS TATE+LYLE® ORGANIC RAW CANE SUGAR?
Tate+Lyle® Organic Raw Cane Sugar is a light, golden-colored sugar that is versatile for sweetening and baking and can be used just as you would white granulated sugar. Organic Raw Cane Sugar has no additives, preservatives nor animal by-products.
IS TURBINADO SUGAR THE SAME AS BROWN SUGAR?
No, turbinado sugar is not the same exact product as traditional brown sugar. While turbinado is a type of brown sugar, it has been processed differently than brown sugar and therefore they have different qualities. Brown sugar contains more moisture and its crystals are very refined. Brown sugar is considered a soft sugar. Turbinado has larger, more granular crystals with a natural slight molasses flavor and has a crunchier texture.
DOES TURBINADO SUGAR HARDEN?
Turbinado sugar, like any sugar, can have a tendency to clump and harden if exposed to moisture. We recommend turbinado sugar be stored in a dry area in an airtight container to prevent any clumping.
ARE TATE+LYLE® SUGARS SUITABLE FOR VEGETARIANS AND/OR VEGANS?
Our Raw Cane Sugar is certified vegan by Vegan Action, www.vegan.org and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
ARE YOUR PRODUCTS KOSHER OR KOSHER FOR PASSOVER CERTIFIED?
Yes, all of our products are certified both Kosher and Kosher for Passover.

DO YOUR PRODUCTS CONTAIN NUTS OR ARE THEY MADE IN A FACILITY THAT MAY HANDLE NUTS?
Our products do not contain any nuts, nor are they are packed with equipment that handles nuts or peanuts. Our facilities and the overall production of our sugar products do not handle nuts or peanuts.
IS YOUR PACKAGING RECYCLABLE?
Yes, the Tate+Lyle® Sugar plastic pouches can be recycled along with your household recyclables. The #2 recycle symbol on our packaging indicates the plastic can be recycled through most curbside recycling programs.
WHAT MAKES TATE+LYLE® ORGANIC SUGARS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SUGARS?
Tate+Lyle® Organic Pure Cane Sugar and Organic Turbinado Cane Sugar are certified organic sugars by the international organic certification services of QAI, Quality Assurance International. QAI's organic certification services certify every step of the organic food production chain to ensure adherence to organic standards.
CAN I SUBSTITUTE TURBINADO SUGAR FOR REGULAR GRANULATED SUGAR IN RECIPES?
Yes, you can use turbinado sugar just as you would granulated sugar in recipes and for sweetening beverages, or for sprinkling. The lightly refined, golden turbinado sugar adds a delicate molasses flavor when sweetening.
HOW SHOULD I STORE TATE+LYLE® SUGARS?
For best results, store sugar in an airtight container in a cool, dry location (not the refrigerator).
IS THERE A DIFFERENCE WHEN I BAKE WITH ORGANIC SUGAR?
There is no difference when baking with either Raw Cane Sugar or Organic Raw Cane Sugar. They can be substituted equally for each other and not affect the outcome of your recipes.
CAN I SUBSTITUTE TURBINADO SUGAR FOR BROWN SUGAR IN RECIPES?
Yes, although some of your recipes may need modification. Regular brown sugar contains more moisture and molasses flavor than turbinado sugar, so if your recipe requires brown sugar and you would like to substitute with turbinado, you may need to add molasses.
HOW DO I USE HONEY GRANULES?
You can sprinkle on baked goods, cereals or grapefruit and stir into any hot or cold beverage. Honey Granules are delicious for dipping strawberries or sprinkled on other fresh berries. Honey Granules are also perfect as a versatile sweetening ingredient when cooking recipes, such as salad dressings, sauces or rubs and marinades. View our recipes for additional ideas.
CAN I USE HONEY GRANULES IN BAKING?
Honey Granules can be used in many different types of baked good recipes as a substitute for either some, or all, of the granulated sugar called for in the recipe. Honey granules can often be substituted for fluid honey by using this conversion:
1 cup liquid honey = 1 cup Tate+Lyle® Honey Granules + ¼ cup additional liquid to recipe
CAN I SUBSTITUTE HONEY GRANULES IN PLACE OF REGULAR SUGAR? IF SO, WHAT IS THE SUBSTITUTION? HOW MUCH HONEY GRANULES WILL REPLACE THE SWEETNESS OF ONE CUP OF SUGAR?
Honey may taste a bit sweeter than granulated sugar because honey is naturally a bit sweeter than sugar. However, you may find honey granules to be just as sweet as sugar and will use an equal amount when adding it to their favorite foods or beverage. We encourage you to use Honey Granules to flavor your foods to your liking.
WILL THERE BE A TASTE DIFFERENCE IF I USE HONEY GRANULES?
Yes, there will be a taste difference because honey and granulated sugar do not taste the same. Even though the honey granules are a blend of sugar and honey, the Honey Granules add the real rich and exquisite flavor of honey to whatever they are added to.
CAN I SUBSTITUTE HONEY GRANULES FOR TATE+LYLE® ORGANIC TURBINADO CANE SUGAR?
Creativity in cooking and baking with Tate+Lyle® products is always encouraged. However, turbinado sugar recipes are distinct in color and taste therefore substituting for Honey Granules may produce different results than expected.
HOW DO I STORE HONEY GRANULES?
Honey Granules should be stored at room temperature. There is no reason to refrigerate or freeze Honey Granules.
